The Managing the Payroll Process micro-credential requires the practitioner demonstrate the skills necessary to prepare all components of the payroll. The individual who receives the Managing the Payroll Process micro-credential will be able to compare, contrast and evaluate the components of the payroll cycle and utilize the software systems.
Payroll has three major concepts that Finance and Human Resources must understand and implement in a district. (1) The setting up or configuration of payroll and all its components. (2) Processing a Payroll on a semi-monthly or bi-weekly basis. (3) Preparing for and reporting of key local, state and federal reports to different agencies. All three of these major components are required in this micro-credential. Supporting resources and references are also included so that the participant is a lifelong learner, ensuring that future changes to any required skill can be researched and changed in the future.
